Budget Manager ("the App") is a personal finance tool that allows users to track expenses on mobile devices and optionally synchronize that data across devices using a cloud account.

This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how it is used.

As an EU-based developer, data processing follows GDPR.

2. Data We Collect

2.1. Account Information

If you choose to create an account:

• Email address (when using email/password login)
• Google account basic profile data (when signing in with Google: name, email, profile picture if available)

This is provided to us via Firebase Authentication.

2.2. Financial Data You Enter

You may enter various budgeting information, including:

• Expenses
• Income
• Categories
• Notes
• Wallets, accounts, savings

This data is created and controlled by you. It is stored locally on your device and optionally synchronized to our backend database.

2.3. Technical Data Automatically Logged

We use no analytics, no advertising, and no behavior tracking.

Firebase Authentication logs minimal technical data only for security:

• Authentication events (login, logout)
• Device identifiers necessary to maintain a secure login session

We do not store or use this data for analytics.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your data strictly for the following purposes:

A. To create and manage your account

• Email/password login
• Google Login
• Reset password / security

B. To sync your budgeting data between your devices and the web app

Data entered on your device is synced 1:1 to your encrypted cloud account on PostgreSQL (via Railway).

C. To provide support

If you contact us, your email may be used for troubleshooting.

We do not use your data for marketing, advertising, profiling, AI training, or resale.

4. Legal Basis (GDPR)

We process data under:

• (a) Contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) – To provide cloud sync, user accounts, and app functionality.
• (b) Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) – When you explicitly choose to create an account.
• (c) Legitimate Interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) – To secure authentication and protect against abuse.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell or share your data with third parties.

The only processors involved are:

• Google Firebase Authentication – for secure login
• Railway + PostgreSQL – for encrypted database storage

These providers act as data processors, not data recipients.

6. Data Retention

• Account data (email, Google login) – Stored until you delete your account.
• Budgeting data – Stored until you delete it or delete your account.
• Backups – Automated backups may persist 30–90 days before being fully purged.

7. Data Security

We implement:

• Encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS)
• Access control and authentication
• Password hashing (managed by Firebase Auth)
• Managed PostgreSQL with encrypted storage
• Least-privilege database access
• Regular backups

8. Your Rights (GDPR)

You may request:

• Access to your data
• Correction
• Deletion ("Right to be forgotten")
• Data export (JSON export available in-app)
• Restriction or objection
• Withdrawal of consent

9. Data Deletion / Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time from within the app. This permanently deletes:

• Your account credentials
• All synced budgeting data
• Cloud copies and backups (within 30–90 days)

10. Children's Privacy

The App is intended for users aged 16 and above.

We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.

11. International Transfers

Firebase and Railway may store data in the EU or in the US depending on availability. Transfers comply with:

• EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs)
• GDPR requirements for secure international transfers

12. Changes to This Policy

Any changes will be posted on this page and in the app (if required).
